Our Company is affliated with the Bridge Church (69 Evesham Rd, Headles Cross, B974AX)
The 1st Redditch Boys’ Brigade was founded on Monday 19th September 1960 by Mr Allan Sealy the then Captain. In 1964 Mr Sealy handed over a growing Company to Mr Bert Harris who retired August 2011 after serving 47 years as our Captain.
At 1st Redditch boys can expect to make new friends, learn and experience new things and have plenty of fun. We also have a short time of bible based devotions, learning more about God. When the boys reach Junior Section age they can attend weekend and annual holidays with the rest of the company and our sister organisation the 1st Redditch Girls’ Brigade.
We are part of the Worcestershire Battalion who arranges various inter Battalion events through the year such as, five-aside football matches, fun days, Kwik cricket tournaments, PE competitions, quizzes and much more. The Battalion also organise camps and worship activities for all the Companies in Worcestershire.
We charge a weekly subscription of £1.50 which can now be paid for in advance to make it easier, the money raised helps pay for badges, awards and towards offsetting the costs of some trips and events. In addition to this we organise fund raising events throughout the year; some are in the form of social events such a skittle evenings or discos and others are collecting in supermarkets or in Redditch town centre.
